Great value on membership

I was looking for an affordable way to get into gardening and found Harvest Gardens. I signed up for an annual membership and felt like it was a really good deal. The membership discount made the urban farming classes much more accessible. It definitely felt worth the purchase for all the resources I gained.

Easy plot rental process

Renting a community garden plot here was super easy. I just filled out the form online and picked my plot. Got my plot number in like two days. Happy to have a spot to grow my veggies.

Love my new plants!

Just picked up my pollinator garden kit and I'm so excited! The native plants look amazing and healthy. I can't wait to get them in the ground. Everything was ready when I arrived and the staff were so helpful. This place is fantastic!

Good plot, slow communication

I rented a community garden plot this spring and generally found it to be a good experience. The plot itself was a decent size for the price, and having access to water was really convenient. I also appreciated the option for garden tool rentals, though I only used it once. My main issue was with getting responses to my emails about plot availability before I signed up; it took a few days to hear back which made planning a little tight. Otherwise, a solid place to grow.

Helpful workshop, clear instructions

I attended a gardening workshop last month on composting and found it very informative. The online registration process was straightforward. The instructor was knowledgeable and answered all questions clearly. I purchased some organic compost after the workshop, and it was ready for pickup as promised. The facility was clean, and the staff I spoke with during pickup were friendly. My only minor feedback is that parking near the entrance was a bit limited. Overall, a positive learning experience.

Planning to do some serious gardening, do they provide tools or do I need to bring my own stuff like a trowel and pruners?

S Sophie Whitfield 2 months ago
They have some tools you can rent, which is pretty handy if you don't want to haul all your own gear. I usually just bring my favorites though.

They have a tool rental shed! It's super convenient. I've rented gloves and a bigger shovel there before. Saves you buying stuff you might only use once or twice.

Is the water included with the plot rental? Or do you have to pay extra for that?

R Rosa H. 2 months ago
Water is definitely included. There are spigots all over the place, no extra charge.

Yeah, water is part of the deal. They have irrigation hoses and stuff you can use too, for free. It's not like you get a separate bill for it.

wondering if anyone knows the process for renting a garden plot? is it first come, first served, or is there a waiting list situation?

J June 2 months ago
They have an application process for plots. I applied online a couple of months ago and got a response pretty quickly. You pick your size and everything then.

It's not really first come, first served in the sense of just showing up. You definitely need to go through their application thing on the website. They open it up for renewals first, then new plots.

Hey, thinking about getting a plot for next year. What's the deal with discounts? Are there any coupon codes floating around?

W Wendy 3 months ago
Nah, they don't really do coupon codes. I got a discount last year by signing up for an annual membership, that's how they usually do it.

Yeah, I think it's more about membership tiers or if you fit certain community programs. My grandma gets a senior discount on her plot rental, so there's that.
